Your Holiday in Mousehole

Let Morningtide be your perfect Cornish retreat in Mousehole, with incredible sea views across Mounts Bay.

Imagine arriving to this tucked away cottage, on a pedestrian street in a quiet part of Mousehole. You will relax the minute you open the door to this beautifully furnished, spacious and stylish cottage! Unpack your bags and then take a short stroll to the picturesque harbour of Mousehole, which truly lives up to Dylan Thomas description as the “loveliest village in England”. Discover a picture postcard Cornish harbour (for a potted history see Journal)  with a small sandy beach at one end and a myriad of winding streets, with an array of cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. The only problem you face is where to try first.

Spend your days exploring the many attractions of West Cornwall, from the iconic Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, to the bustling streets of St Ives (take the train from Penzance or St Erth) where you can visit the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Tate St Ives, followed by ice cream on one of the seven sandy town beaches. For the adventurous, grab the Scillonian, which you can see from the window, from Penzance to the incredible Isles of Scilly.

Alternate busy days with more relaxing ones; a morning walk, along the South West Coast path, a relaxing lunch at a fabulous local pub and then either flop on the beach with a reviving dip in the crystal blue sea; or visit one of the many stunning gardens in the area (see Journal for inspiration). Everything is on your doorstep and always return home to a comfortable home from home, with a well-equipped kitchen for a family dinner. Alternatively, why not enjoy a meal out, a short stroll to the harbour will take you to either 2 Fore Street or the Old Coastguard Hotel for a delectable dinner overlooking the sea, or The Mousehole Deli and Kitchen is a good option, offering a range of locally sourced dishes including their popular fish and chips.

With Morningtide as your retreat, you can you relax, unwind and explore this magical part of Cornwall.

Reviews

Our stay at Morning Tide was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breath-takin panoramic sea views across Mounts Bay—watching the sunrise over St Michael’s Mount with a morning coffee became our daily ritual. The cottage itself is a gem.  Kevin – April 2025.
