Porth Nanven House – Guest Comments

Porth Nanven House, is a family home so has not been available to let for a few years – however this is what our guests have said in the past!

We spotted dolphins and porpoises almost every day!

Phay was a joy to deal with answering all our queries promptly, providing spot on directions to the house and treating us to lovely flowers, wine, chocolates and dog biscuits upon arrival.
We have stayed in many holiday lets over the years and despite doing thorough homework we have often been disappointed by misleading descriptions and clever photography, however Porth Nanven House exceeded our expectations!
The location of the house is sublime, I couldn’t stop staring out of the windows towards the sea!
We loved the “wild” garden which must be beautiful in spring time. The valley and surrounding area is great for bird watching and we spotted dolphins and porpoises almost every day.
The house is stylishly decorated and the bed linen and towels are luxurious.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need with plenty of pots and pans and crockery.
The house has footpaths either side of it so may be too busy for some in summer months but that’s Cornwall!
St Just is a lovely little town where you will find everything you need for your stay.
We have never revisited a holiday home before as we like to explore as much of this beautiful country of ours as we can but I am not sure I can resist the lure of Cot valley and Porth Nanven House.

Porth Nanven House couldn’t have been more prefect for our Christmas break.  It’s a gorgeous traditional cottage but yet there’s lots of space and it’s very stylishly and tastefully presented throughout with great views of the valley out to sea.   Great kitchen with everything you could need and the master bed was unbelievably comfortable.  Lots of walks straight from the house too. It’s an ideal hideaway – far enough away from the crowds but close enough to life should you need it.

Glorious cliff walks!

We had a fantastic holiday at Porth Nanven house, the views from the garden are absolutely stunning, taking them in with our morning coffee and evening dinners with the backdrop of the sea and green hills. The walks from the house to the beach are marvellous, plus the addition of a taste of history with the historic mining sites and glorious cliff walks and amazing views from the top.
We house has been tastefully decorated, three lovely bedrooms and a great sitting room, we enjoyed our family breakfast each morning looking out to the views from the sun room. There were a number of days where we just left the car to enjoy the house and garden and local walks.

Beautifully decorated cottage with great views in a wonderful spot. We had great fun cooking on the Aga and exploring the fantastic walks straight from the garden. Highly recommend this cottage and it’s hosts.

We look forward to coming back!

We had a fantastic stay with our boys at Porth Nanven House. The setting was spectacularly idyllic – you really feel like you’ve escaped all the mayhem of city life! We frequently took walks down towards the local beach (although be warned those with children that access to the shore itself is rather treacherous and not suitable for babies). It is a very atmospheric with a scenic route to it. The house is within easy reach of some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen (Sennen and Porthcurno to name but two). The cultural delights of St Ives are but a short journey away (which also has some stunning sandy beaches too).

The house itself is a real gem. Very well kitted out – for all age groups – and stylishly decorated too with beautiful antique detailing and crisp white bed linen in each bedroom. The fact that there are also three lovely bathrooms is a real added bonus. Everything is geared to a very comfortable and luxurious stay. We look forward to coming back!
