Porth Nanven House is a stunning property located at the end of a rural lane in the beautiful and magical Cot Valley, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cot Valley is located in the far west of Cornwall between Cape Cornwall and Lands End, the valley stretches down to the sea, nearby is the market town of St Just with a selection of useful independent shops and good pubs.
The larger historic town of Penzance is 10 miles away with a wider range of shops, supermarkets, leisure centre, outdoor lido, pubs and critically acclaimed restaurants. The Scillonian ferry runs from Penzance, or nearby Lands End airport offers regular flights to the stunning Scilly Isles. Porth Nanven House is a beautiful, spacious and luxurious family home, packed with character features, beautiful furnishings, stunning coastal and rural views and located in a magical location; a real home from home.
A small courtyard leads to the main entrance of Porth Nanven House with a stable door leading directly into the kitchen. The traditional hand made kitchen is well equipped with high quality kitchen equipment and plenty of storage space, the Heritage range oven is similar to an Aga with two ovens and two hob plates, dishwasher, Belfast sink, integrated fridge and further large fridge / freezer and separate island unit with window seat behind. A short hallway leads down to a light and airy dining area, with patio door.
There is a very large sitting room with sumptuous sofas comfortably seating six people, flat screen TV and DVD player and large round dining table. At the back of the sitting room is a downstairs shower room with basin, WC and cupboard housing the washing machine and tumble drier. Access to the private garden is through a patio door from the kitchen and dining room.
On the first floor are three good sized bedrooms, at the front of the house is a beautifully furnished double bedroom with new ensuite with WC and basin. The second bedroom is a twin bedroom with zip link beds, so if required it can be presented as a double, large wardrobe with plenty of storage. The master bedroom is at the back of the house, over looking the garden and towards the sea. There is a small dressing area with large desk and chair, leading into the master bedroom which is a dual aspect room with super king sized bed, chest of drawers and beautiful sea views. There is a large and brand new family bathroom with stunning roll top bath, large double shower enclosure, WC, basin and towel rail.
To the rear of the property is a beautiful, sunny, private garden, terraced in three sections and mostly laid to lawn with a small patio area with garden furniture for six people. Please note that there is steep drop between the top and middle terrace, there is no fence so children and some pets must be accompanied when in this section of the garden. Sundowners watching the magnificent sunsets are an absolute must at Porth Nanven House!
Facilities and Services
The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels (including beach towels) and the final laundry are included in the price. Wifi broadband , telephone (incoming calls only)
Parking for two cars. Porth Nanven Cottage is next door so guests are asked to park considerately. Porth Nanven House is set in a tranquil and magical location and would make an ideal base for both families and couples alike. Shop & Pub within 2 miles (St Just is walkable from Porth Nanven House), The local beach is a few hundred yards away – stony with sand at low tide. The sandy beach at Sennen is Beach 5 miles. Porth Nanven House is a non-smoking property. Pets welcome by prior arrangement. Arrival / Departure: Friday.
