Porth Nanven Cottage – Guest Comments

Porth Nanven Cottage is a single storey beautifully presented two bedroom cottage, nestled in the hillside down a long track in the magical Cot Valley, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Cot Valley is located in the far west of Cornwall between Cape Cornwall and Lands End, the valley stretches down to the sea, nearby is St Just with a selection of useful shops and good pubs. The perfect choice for a romantic getaway, family holiday, walkers, surfers and dog owners.

A fantastic stay

Have just returned from a wonderful stay at Porth Nanven cottage. On arrival we were greeted with freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream – a lovely touch and very welcomed after our long journey from London. Charlie, our miniature Schnauzer, was not forgotten and welcomed with a similarly scrumptious treat of two large dog biscuits.
Fantastically equipped, super comfy beds, beautiful white fluffy towels and divine bath products. With breathtaking views and spectacular walks on your door step, this really is a great place to get away from it all.
Thank you to Phay and the team for a fantastic stay.

Great location for walkers

Lovely cottage in peaceful location. Beds are very comfy. Great location for walkers with coastal path nearby. Nanven Cove is lovely at sunset and low tide. Perfect for photographers. Pizza from the square in St Just was good and the chip shop at St Just was also good. We had great weather and enjoyed sun filled days at Porthcurno and Sennen. Thanks

Perfect in any weather

The cottage is in a lovely location in its own little valley with a short walk down to a sandy bay at low tide. Great for the kids as there were plenty of rock pools to explore. This stretch of cost between Port Nanven and St Ives is very beautiful and peaceful with plenty of great walking opportunities. A great holiday and particularly liked the light and airy sitting room….perfect in any weather

We’ll be back

Lucky us, we stayed 2 splendid weeks in Porth Nanven Cottage, again. Enjoyed perfectly sunny weather, blue skies on Cornwall coves, beaches, villages, exploring Celtic remains. A big thanks to Phay, Jonathan and the entire team for everything. We’ll be back

A very peaceful place to stay

A very peaceful place to stay and we appreciated how well equipped the house is – thank you.
The weather has been a bit better than forecast and we have managed to hunker down here and go exploring, so a lovely weeks holiday all in all. We particularly recommend getting the open top (A3) bus to St Ives but it is busy – a lovely way to see Penwith.

Beautiful and stunning location

Than you very much for providing such a perfect place! We enjoyed the beautiful cottage, completely equipped in the best of taste. We definitely felt at home right away as we were welcomed with clotted cream, scones and red wine.
The superb location right at the coastal path makes it very easy to explore the coast to the north (Cape Cornwall/Pendeen) and to the south (Sennen Cove/Lands End). Thank you as well for the appropriate weather with just one day of rain and a lot of sun otherwise.
We definitely plan come again for long walks in this beautiful and stunning landscape.

A true gem

Our first visit to this cottage and wonderful location, a true ‘Gem’.
After a long journey the cottage offered warmth and a welcome basket including treats for the dogs, we knew then this week was going to be special.
The walks from the cottage are fabulous and worth doing, really enjoyed walking to the Crown Mines. Another was driving to Porthgwarra and then walking to Land’s End, scenery spectacular. You can walk the opposite way also to Porthcurno passing the open air theatre.
Porth Nanven Cottage allowed us to de-stress, unwind, relax and for that I thank you.

A real find of a cottage

A great stay in a real find of a cottage!
Walking straight out of the door is such a pleasure especially as the routes take you to the coast path & such wonderful scenery. St Just is also a favourite – it has everything you need for a stay.
Walk to Cape Cornwall and onto Botallack for a real adventure through Cornwall’s industrial past – amazing!
Will come again, hopefully in spring time, to enjoy longer days & colourful flowers.
Many thanks for the welcome pack, the wine was an excellent first night settler!

Wonderful Holidays

It was one of the best holidays we had. Cornwall is already beautiful in itself. The house in connection is simply a dream. It is furnished with so many love and nothing is missing. We will come back for sure. Thanks for the wonderful stay. Josef and Romy

Beautiful location and very comfy

I consider my self a holiday cottage connaiseur (i.e bit fussy) and cannot fault this property. It is in a lovely out of the way spot down a track which made it very peaceful but easy reach of St Just which has everything you need in way of shops, food etc. Really nicely furnished and lots ofextra little touches like plenty of plates, loo rolls etc. Really appreciated excellent welcome pack which I always thinks sets the tone for a good stay. Perfect spot to do lots of walking without getting car out.

A real home, away from home!

When we arrived it was already very dark and in the middle of a horrific rainstorm we found our way to the cottage thanks to excellent route info.
The next morning we had rain but that was it for the rest of our two weeks.
We absolutely loved the cottage, the valley and the village (pub & restaurants). It was always a pleasure to come home after a long walk with our dog and experience the absolute tranquility of the valley and the superb comfort of the cottage.
We will come back for sure!
Lia, Ruud and Rose the dog.
