The Barn, Ashton – Guest Comments

Stayed for two weeks at the end of July in The Barn, Ashton. This was our second visit and it didn’t disappoint. Our dogs love the huge, secure garden and the welcome dog treats and dog blankets are a nice touch. We explored the local area, Praa sands and Gwithian beach were firm favourites, along with the Minnack theatre. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and a great base to explore. Would recommend.

I am a regular to Helston so I know it very well. The house is private and super quiet yet you are minutes to supermarkets and lovely pubs and Porthleven etc
Very spacious yet cosy, stunning garden where you can appreciate the milky way in the still of the night!

Stayed in August with husband, daughter, son and daughter-in-law. We also had three dogs with us. The garden was a fabulous space for the dogs, really secure and lots space to run around. The house was clean and tidy on arrival and there was a lovely welcome gift for us and the dogs!
The house had everything we needed for our holiday, there was lots of room inside for 5 adults. The location is very peaceful with lovely walks on the doorstep. It’s a great spot to explore that part of Cornwall, we went to Gwithian Beach, Praa Sands, Lands End, Falmouth and St Ives (on the train). The best though, was the Minack theatre, which I would thoroughly recommend.

Thanks  for the use of your lovely Barn and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. The accommodation was clean, spacious and in good order as advertised. There was lots of space for the family and secure garden for our dog.

It was a great location to explore lots of areas and we had fantastic weather. We visited Eden Project, Minack Theatre, Falmouth, St Ives by train, Praa Sands beach to name a few. You won’t be disappointed- Phay was great at answering any questions and for advice. We would certainly recommend without hesitation and hope to be back in the future.

We have just returned from a stay at The Barn in Ashton. The property is light and airy and well equipped. It is ideally located to visit all the beautiful places nearby – Praa Sands, Porthleven, Marazion etc. The secure garden was ideal for the dogs who were also well catered for too. We hope to visit again.

Fantastic barn in a great peaceful location but close to everything in south Cornwall. Lots of nice extra touches by the host Phay which made our stay just perfect.

Excellent spacious property well equipped and in an excellent location. Quiet but close to Porthleven which is a lovely Cornish fishing village and some other small local shops for essential supplies within a very short drive.  The property exceeded our expectations in terms of location and the size of the property.

The Barn is a lovely property, light and spacious. It is in great location for visiting all the beautiful places nearby. Phay was a great host and dealt with any queries promptly. We loved the secure garden for our dogs and they were made very welcome including treats, blankets and towels provided for them too! We hope to visit again soon.

This is a lovely place to stay. Clean and spacious, a home from home. Really close to all the best places to visit locally, from Praa sands just a walk away, to Porthleven and St Ives.

I thought your place was absolutely fantastic, so thank you very much. It exceeded our expectations and it was great to be able to let the dog out safely and park conveniently. Everything was squeaky clean and such a relief to find dishwasher tablets and dish clothes etc. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
