We spent two and a half fantastic weeks in The Artist’s Studio just before Christmas. It was the perfect little hideaway and a cosy space to come back to after blustery days out surfing and exploring the Cornish coastline. The nearest beach (Praa Sands) is a beautiful long swathe of white sand, and the short walk there (~10 minutes) provides a great view of the beach and Mount’s Bay beyond. More amazing scenery can be enjoyed by walking the coast path in either direction, eastwards towards Porthleven via Rinsey and Trewavas heads, or westwards across the beach and on to Prussia Cove.
The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, and very dog friendly with its own pretty little private garden. The location is excellent, situated in the sleepy hamlet of Trevurvas, with its peaceful, rural charm, whilst still being very accessible. There are fresh eggs for sale at the farm atop the hill on the way to the beach, there is a great local farm shop at Trevelyan, and Penzance is just a short drive away for further shops/amenities. Both Land’s End and the Lizard are also within 30 minutes drive, so the Studio’s location makes for a perfect base to explore the stunning beaches and clifftops of the surrounding area.
Stylish Cornish Cottages:
Phay is a model hostess and an absolute pleasure to deal with. She was accommodating and attentive to all our needs, from being flexible and helping us juggle our booking dates due to changing Covid restrictions, to the lovely basket of goodies to welcome us after a long day travelling down, and being easily contactable to help us with any queries we had during our stay.”
“Off the beaten track, the studio is a lovely little sanctuary of peace and quiet. The small garden is beautiful and tranquil. Although secluded, there is good access to local footpaths so Praa Sands is a 10min walk away and Rinsey Cove is around 20mins walk. It was very clean on arrival with extra cleaning/sanitisation products (due to Covid) which was very welcome. Phay had also left out a bottle of wine and some nice biscuits which didn’t last long. Although the amenities are small, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking pans etc so I could make pretty much any dish I wanted which is rare in my experience. There’s nothing to fault here so enjoy your holiday :)”
“A beautiful studio apartment in a perfect location. Really clean and bright, with high quality furnishings, and stylish touches. The neighbours are very friendly and the hamlet where the apartment is is so pretty. Felt like a real escape from the world. The walk to the beach is quick, with a really nice coffee shop on route, excellent coffee and a lovely friendly resident dog. Highly recommend the apartment and would absolutely return in the future. Thank you”
