Your Holiday in Mousehole

Its easy to relax the minute you arrive at Mousehole Cottage, no need to navigate the narrow Mousehole streets and a guaranteed parking space, ensuring a stress-free start to your holiday.  A reviving drink in the private and secure garden overlooking the sea and then head out to wander the pathways and narrow streets of Mousehole.  The picturesque harbour is just a short stroll away from the cottage, and truly lives up to Dylan Thomas description of Mousehole as the “loveliest village in England”. Discover a picture postcard Cornish harbour with a small sandy beach at one end and a myriad of winding streets, with an array of cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants, the only problem you face is where to try first.

Spend your days exploring the many attractions of West Cornwall, from the iconic Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, to the bustling streets of St Ives (take the train from Penzance or St Erth) where you can visit the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Tate St Ives, followed by ice cream on one of the seven sandy town beaches. For the adventurous, grab the Scillonian, which you can see from the window, from Penzance to the incredible Isles of Scilly. Alternate busy days with more relaxing ones; a morning walk, along the South West Coast path, a relaxing lunch at a fabulous local pub and then either flop on the beach with a reviving dip in the crystal blue sea; or visit one of the many stunning gardens in the area (see Journal for inspiration).  Everything is on your doorstep and always return home to a comfortable home from home, with a well-equipped kitchen, or BBQ for a family dinner.  Or if you can’t be bothered to cook, nip next door to the wonderful Old Coastguard Hotel for a delectable dinner overlooking the sea, or grab fish and chips from nearby Newlyn.
