A charming family friendly retreat in the lovely, sub- tropical Cot Valley. The large terrace with incredible sea views is perfect for sundowners. Younger guests will love exploring the adventure garden. Cot Valley is located in the far west of Cornwall between Cape Cornwall and Lands End, the valley stretches down to the sea, nearby is the market town of St Just with a selection of useful independent shops and good pubs.
The larger historic town of Penzance is 10 miles away with a wider range of shops, supermarkets, leisure centre, outdoor lido, pubs and critically acclaimed restaurants. The Scillonian ferry runs from Penzance, or nearby Lands End airport offers regular flights to the stunning Scilly Isles. Porth Nanven House is a beautiful, spacious and luxurious family home, packed with character features, beautiful furnishings, stunning coastal and rural views and located in a magical location; a real home from home.
This charming family & pet friendly retreat can be found down a winding Cornish country lane which leads to the lovely, lush, sub- tropical Cot Valley. Overlooking a bubbling stream sits a large terrace with incredible sea views perfect for grown up’s sundowners whilst younger guests explore the adventure garden.
Overlooking the terrace, the open plan living space is light and bright with an open plan kitchen and dining space. The cottage is on a reverse level arrangement and the king size bedroom and single bedroom can be found on the top floor along with the sitting room, the kitchen/dining room and family bathroom. Downstairs is the second bedroom and a WC, you have direct access to the garden from here. The sitting room is spacious with bi-folding doors out to the terrace and views straight out to sea. There is an open fire perfect for curling up with a book in the event of rainy days and plenty of entertainment devices such as DVD’s, board games and an Xbox. Just a 10 minute stroll from the cottage you will find the stunning Porth Nanven beach, perfect for a morning dip or an evening BBQ. This beach rarely ever gets busy and you will find you often have it to yourself. The more popular surfing beach Sennen is a 10 minutes drive away. There are many stunning walks in every direction from the cottage as you are right on the South West Coast Path.
Just up the road, St Just is a friendly little town with pubs, cafes and delicatessens as well as several art galleries including Kurt Jackson’s Jackson Foundation. Nearby gastro pubs for foodies include The Gurnard’s Head at Zennor, The Old Coastguard at Mousehole as well as The Beach Restaurant at Sennen.
Facilities and Services
The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels (including beach towels) and the final laundry are included in the price. Wifi broadband.
Parking for two cars. Shop & Pub within 1 miles (St Just is walkable from Brook Cottage). The local beach is a few hundred yards away – stony with sand at low tide. The sandy beach at Sennen is Beach 5 miles. Brook Cottage is a non-smoking property. Pets welcome by prior arrangement. Arrival / Departure: Friday.
